About Norway Country Club
Norway Country Club offers a great assortment of golf. Ranging from some of the simplest holes to one of the hardest Par 4’s in the state on Maine. The simple, but challenging layout makes this course fun for all levels of play.
Scenic 9 Hole Golf
Norway Country Club is Maine’s most scenic 9-hole course, featuring 2,909 yards of golf for a par of 35. Designed by George Dunn in 1929, the course winds through tall pines with stunning views of the White Mountains from the 1st tee to signature hole #5.
With manicured greens, plush fairways, a driving range, and expanded clubhouse amenities, Norway Country Club offers a welcoming golf experience for all ages.
The present clubhouse stands on one of the oldest properties in Norway, originally purchased by Jeremiah Hobbs from Henry Rust in 1786. After passing through several owners—including James Nason, Benjamin Whitehouse Jr., and Asa Mathews—the original buildings eventually burned down. In the late 1800s, Louisa R. Quint rebuilt on the site and named it “Hazelhurst.”
The land was used as a dairy farm by George M. Bachelder before being sold to the Norway Home Building Association in 1929, which soon transferred it to the newly formed Norway Country Club.
